Sl st, ch 1. Cut & tie. Weave in ends.

Joining the lid to the box
Where you did your last sl st and ch on the box, this is the back of the present. The front of the box should be facing you.
Attach your yarn to the right back corner. Attach the lid and box together, working through the front loops and sc until you reach the left back corner of the box (see pictures)

Place your cardboard inside the lid and at the bottom of the box.

Ribbon
With the gold yarn, leave a small amount of yarn at the beginning, ch 75. Leave an equal amount of yarn at the end and cut off. You will add the ribbon at the end.

Cat
You will be making the body and the head together so there is no sewing needed. We will be starting from the bottom of the body.
With white yarn, create a MC
Round 1. Sc 6 into MC (6)
Close circle
Round 2. Inc 6 (12)
Round 3. (Sc, inc) x6 (18)

On this next round, we will make the tail.

Round 19. (Sc 2, dec) x6 (18)
Round 20. Sc 18 (18)

Place your eyes between round 18 & 19 with 3 sc in-between. You can determine the front of the face by making sure the tail is at the back.
With black tread, sew a small ‘V’ for the nose between the eyes with a straight line going down from the point.
Add two whiskers on each side underneath the eyes.

Round 21. (Sc, dec) x6 (12)
Add filling
Sl st
We are going to add the ears here whilst also closing the top of the head. For this round work through both sides of the head to close.

Round 22. Dc, ch 1, hdc into same st, sl st 3, hdc, dc into same st, ch 1, sl st into same st.
Cut and tie. Weave in all ends.

All that is left to do is to place your cat inside the present and tie your ribbon around with a bow on top!
