This mischievous kitty is 8cm wide and 9cm long using a 2.5mm hook and 4 ply yarn but you can make him bigger or smaller by changing your hook size and the yarn thickness.
This pattern does use the colours green for the tree with red and gold beads and white for the cat but you can use any colour scheme you wish.
This pattern is beginner friendly and written in US terms. It also requires a little bit of sewing to place the face, the tail and the beads.

Gauge: 23 stitches by 25 rows = 4 inches (10cm)
Abbreviation
CH – Chain Stitch SC – Single Crochet
DEC – Decrease INC – Increase
SL ST – Slip Stitch RND – Round
MC – Magic Circle FTH – From the Hook
BLO – Back Loops Only

Instructions
This pattern is worked in continuous rounds without joining (unless stated otherwise). Use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round and move the marker up at the beginning of each round.
Cat
With white yarn, create MC
Round 1. Sc 6 into MC (6)
Pull circle closed
Round 2. Inc 6 (12)
Round 3. (Sc, inc) x6 (18)
Round 4. (Sc 2, inc) x6 (24)
Round 5. (Sc 3, inc) x6 (30)
Sl st, Cut and tie leaving some yarn for sewing onto the tree.
Place your safety eyes between rnds 2 & 3 or evenly.
With black thread, sew a small ‘V’ between the eyes for the nose. Then sew a straight line from the point of the nose down. Finish with an upside down ‘V’ for the mouth.
Whiskers should be placed under the eyes, two on each side. (See picture)
Tail
Ch 4, sl st into first ch to make a circle
Round 1. Sc 6 into circle (6)
Round 2. – Round 13. (12 Rounds) Sc 6 (6)
Round 14. Dec 3 (3)
Cut & tie. Leave some yarn for sewing.
Ears (make 2)
This is the only section of the pattern where you wont be working in continuous rounds. Ch 1 & turn to start the next round.
Ch 5
Round 1. Starting from the 2nd ch FTH, sc 4 (4)
Round 2. Ch 1 & turn, dec 2 (2)
Round 3. Ch 1 & turn, dec (1)
Ch 1, cut and tie.
You don’t need to weave any ends here yet, you can do this when you sew them onto the tree.
Tree
You will be working in continuous rounds again with a stitch marker.
Using green yarn, make a MC
Round 1. Sc 6 into MC (6)
Close circle
Round 2. Inc 6 (12)
Round 3. (BLO) Sc 12 (12)
Round 4. Sc 12 (12)
Round 5. (BLO) (Sc, inc) x6 (18)
Round 6. Sc 18 (18)
Round 7. (BLO) (Sc 2, inc) x6 (24)

Round 10. Sc 30 (30)
Round 11. (BLO) (Sc 4, inc) x6 (36)

Do not cut off yarn yet.
Using a tapestry needle, sew the face in the center of the tree. Place the ears behind the face and sew them on at the same time. Make sure you place the face above the last BLO round that you did as this will be the bottom of the tree.
Just above your last BLO round, sew on the tail. The end of the tail will be the dec 3 side which should be the closest to the face. Sew the tail around the tree so it looks as if the tail is coming out of the back. Hide all ends inside the tree.
Continue to crochet the tree
Round 20. (Sc 4, dec) x6 (30)
Round 21. (Sc 3, dec) x6 (24)
Round 22. (Sc 2, dec) x6 (18)
Softly add some stuffing but do not stuff too tight, you want to make sure the bottom does not stick out too much and remains as flat as possible.
Round 23. (Sc, dec) x6 (12)
Round 24. Dec 6 (6)
Cut and tie. Leave a little bit of yarn and use a tapestry needle to sew the dec 6 closed. Weave in the end.
Using your green thread and sewing needle, sew the beads how you wish around the tree.
Your Christmas tree cat is finished!
If you wish to make it into a Christmas bauble, you can cut some green yarn, feet it through the top of the tree and tie to make a loop.
